Have you tried Duolingo, YouTube videos, and a couple of grammar books, but Italian still doesn't seem to stick? My approach is designed to help you get past that block. I'm Vince, a certified Italian teacher (CEDILS, Ca' Foscari University of Venice). I've taught thousands of hours of lessons and worked with over 800 students, with reviews that speak for themselves.
I mainly work with American professionals, travelers, and people reconnecting with their Italian roots. Many face the same challenges: finding lesson times that work across US time zones, moving beyond textbook Italian to real conversations at a restaurant or around Grandma's table, and quieting that inner voice that makes you question every sentence before you say it.
Here's how we work: rather than using the same materials for everyone, I tailor your lessons to your level (A0–C2), your goals, and the way you learn best. You'll know what to study and why. Each lesson brings together conversation, grammar, pronunciation, and practice for real-life situations, with immediate corrections to help prevent mistakes from becoming habits. If you're preparing for CELI, CILS, or PLIDA, we'll plan your exam preparation together too.
I know what it's like to be a language learner too. I spent years living abroad, mainly in South America, where I learned Spanish and Portuguese from scratch as an adult. No. Lessons adapt to your level, even if you're starting from scratch. We can use a shared language for support when needed.
How do online Italian lessons work?
Lessons are one-on-one on Zoom. We use a shared document to keep track of your progress, corrections, and materials. Each lesson combines conversation, grammar, pronunciation, and practical exercises tailored to your level (A0–C2) and your goals.
